The Healer Within
What Chironian Healing Really Means
For me, astrology has always been a map: a gateway to self-realization and connecting deeper with the elements of the earth. It’s been the ultimate healing path, eventually leading me towards the plants themselves and showing me how to live more in accordance with the seasonal cycles of the world around me.
Each sign of the zodiac contains within it a cycle and an archetype that is reflected both within nature and within us; within our minds, bodies, and spirits.
For Virgo, this cycle is reflected within the plant kingdom in its entirety; an expression of how the plants form the natural world around us and how they’re reflected in health and healing….
Flower Essences and 5 Reasons to Love Them
After many, many months of preparation and obstacles, we are officially creating videos here at Chiron’s Apothecary!
Nearly four years ago, I had a dream about yarrow and black tourmaline. From there, Chiron’s Apothecary was born. And what started as a way to make a humble living while working with the plants I love has transformed into, quite simply, healing. Healing for myself as this business grows and evolves, and healing for those who are searching for something meaningful in their lives…
The Healing Crisis (and the power of Calendula)
Flower essences are subtle and vibrational remedies, meaning that they work on the energetic body (mind and heart, feelings and emotions) which, in turn, helps to deepen physical healing - similar to the way our hearts are filled with love from the inhale of a rose's fragrance. They are simple yet profound medicines made from the combination of flowers, water, and sunlight.
The philosophy of flower essences is that the essence or spirit of a flower can be captured in water infused with the sun’s rays and preserved with alcohol in order to fulfill it’s purpose of healing deep emotional wounds or patterns within the human psyche. The original flower essences were brought to light in the early 1900s by Dr. Edward Bach, an MD upset with the lack of holistic care within the medical industry.
When a healing crisis shows up, it’s your body speaking to you. It’s reminding you that it exists, that it needs you, to please not forget it in that extra long to-do list and the business you’re building and the home and the kids and everything else. It’s saying ‘hey, what about me?!’, usually adding more stress to our mental state than we’re already dealing with in the first place. All the feelings of overwhelm, loss of control, self doubt and self judgement come creeping in. Whether this is happening to us or someone that we care for (a child, an elder), we’re left wondering ‘why me?’ as we try to pick up the pieces of our lives, our hearts and our bodies.
But what if there was another way to experience this? What if we could see these moments of crisis as moments of blessings? What if that flu that showed up in the middle of a major career deadline or the broken leg before you’re supposed to climb Mt. Rainer could be seen as a gift? A wake up call. An opportunity for healing. A chance for rest. A time of growth…
